Payment options
You can choose how you pay your Business Rates:
- Annually, on receipt of your bill;
- Two half-yearly instalments (in April and October); or
- 10 x monthly instalments (on 1st of the month)
You can arrange to pay over 12 months. To set this up please email us by 1 April requesting this option.
If you experience any difficulty making payment, it is important that you contact us as soon as possible. Please do not wait for a reminder to arrive. If you contact us early before recover proceedings have commenced, we can consider your position and it may be possible to agree other arrangements.
When making a payment please have your bill to hand with your account number. This will ensure that your payment is credited directly to your account.
Direct Debit
Paying by Direct Debit is the most efficient and convenient way for you to pay and for us to collect. You can choose to pay on the 1st or 15th of each month.

Online payments
You can pay online using your debit or credit card. You will need the account reference shown on your Business Rate bill.

Using your Debit or Credit card over the phone
You can pay council bills over the telephone on our dedicated payment line, which is available 24 hours a day: 01473 937866. You will need the account reference shown on your Business Rate bill.
Telephone/Internet banking
The details you will need for each payment are:
- Sort Code: 30-94-55
- Bank Account number: 04900414
Don't forget to include your Business Rate account number.
At a Payzone or Post Office
You can pay at any Payzone or Post Office but you must take your barcoded bill. Please note it can take up to five working days for your payment to reach us. The Post Office can only accept payments under £1,000.
