The new revised and updated Ipswich Housing Strategy 2025 – 2030 has been written to reflect.
- The Corporate Strategy ‘Proud of Ipswich’ (2023).
- The outcomes and achievements from our previous Housing Strategy (2019-24).
- Changes in legislation and new requirements.
- Current data insight.
The five priorities of the Housing Strategy set out how we will continue to ensure access to high quality affordable homes we are proud of. A key theme throughout the strategy is the need to use data and technology to deliver successful, accessible, and cost-effective services. There is an emphasis on affordable housing and increasing standards, quality, and service.
Priorities of the Housing Strategy 2025-2030
The Housing Strategy centres around our five priorities.
- Ensure housing of all types and tenures is available to meet housing need.
- Improve the quality and standard of all housing.
- Be an excellent landlord to our tenants.
- Support households to maintain access to accommodation.
- Ensure older persons have access to housing and services that meets their needs.
Working together
This strategy outlines what the Council can do directly and how we can influence others to improve housing in Ipswich. The strategy recognises the challenges faced and the need for greater partnership working to achieve shared priorities.
Action plan and monitoring
The Housing Strategy is supported by an action plan, which is reviewed every three months to track progress on the five priorities. The Action Plan is central to the strategy and will adapt as needed over the years to respond to changes.
