Household Waste Recycling Centres (tips/dumps)

You will only be able to take waste to Suffolk Recycling Centres if you have booked a slot.

To book a slot at the recycling centre online, please visit the Suffolk Recycling website.

We are unable to amend or cancel any bookings directly. To cancel or amend an existing booking, please use the link provided in your confirmation email, or visit the Suffolk County Council website to Modify Your Booking.

If you are unable to find your booking details or email, please email waste.management@suffolk.gov.uk.

Nearest Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs)

The nearest HWRCs are:

  • Portmans Walk (off Sir Alf Ramsey Way), IP1 2DW
  • Foxhall, IP10 OHT.

They are run by Suffolk County Council and they accept household waste for recycling and disposal (subject to some restrictions).

Suffolk HWRCs opening times

Suffolk has 11 HWRCs in total. They open at the following times:

  April - September October - March
Monday 9am - 5pm 9am - 4pm
Tuesday 9am - 5pm 9am - 4pm
Wednesday CLOSED CLOSED
Thursday 9am - 5pm (open until 7pm May-August)  9am - 4pm
Friday 9am - 5pm 9am - 4pm
Saturday 9am - 5pm 9am - 4pm
Sunday/Bank Holidays 9am - 5pm 9am - 4pm

Sites are closed on 25, 26 December and 1 January.

Soil, plasterboard, hardcore and rubble

On 1st April 2016 Suffolk County Council introduced a charge for the disposal of soil and DIY waste such as hardcore, rubble and plasterboard.
